Weekday business hours

A predictable schedule for links that should work only while a team, venue, or service is available.

Weekday business hours workflow preview

What happens when you use it

The setup is saved to your account, then applied to a short link you choose. Its public URL and default destination stay in place while the listed routing and redirect controls are added.

Review all schedules, destinations, limits, and privacy controls before publishing. Shared templates never copy the creator’s password, account ownership, click history, or private reports.

What this starter includes

Timezone

UTC starter value

Change this to the operating timezone before publishing.

Active window

Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00

One recurring window is included and can be extended with a Saturday schedule.

Default destination

Your existing destination

Applying the template does not replace the link you chose.

Fallback

Added by you

Required when visitors need a useful after-hours destination.

A support team handling requests during scheduled service hours

Example: one support link, two honest outcomes

A repair shop places goto.now/help on receipts and appointment messages. From 09:00 to 17:00 on weekdays, the link opens live support. Outside that window, visitors go to a fallback page with opening hours, self-service answers, and the next available appointment form.

The public link never changes, so old receipts remain useful. The important improvement is expectation-setting: customers no longer reach an unattended chat and wonder whether anyone saw the message.

What to preserveA predictable schedule for links that should work only while a team, venue, or service is available.

Set it up carefully

  1. 1

    Choose the operating timezone

Use an IANA timezone such as Asia/Singapore or America/New_York. Avoid leaving UTC unless the team actually works in UTC.

  2. 2

    Set the active windows

Add one line per recurring window. Split weekdays when Friday or weekend hours differ.

  3. 3

    Create an after-hours page

Give visitors opening hours, emergency instructions, or an asynchronous form instead of a dead end.

  4. 4

Test both sides of the schedule

Temporarily narrow the window or preview the resolver so the active and fallback paths are both verified.

Where this setup fits

Use it when

  • Live support and appointment booking
  • Limited-time menus or venue information
  • Internal resources that should pause outside staffed hours

Choose another approach when

  • Emergency information that must always remain available
  • Global teams without one shared service window
  • Links without a useful fallback destination

Questions about weekday business hours

Does the short link stop existing after hours?
No. The same short URL stays live and sends visitors to the fallback destination outside the configured window.
What happens during daylight-saving changes?
A named timezone follows its current offset rules. That is why a city-based timezone is safer than manually calculating UTC offsets.
Can Saturday use different hours?
Yes. Add a separate Saturday window rather than combining it with weekdays.
